Executive Assistant to the Chief Underwriting Officer – Short Tail

Your tasks:

Finished studies and ready for a senior entry level position? Or are you an Underwriter, Portfolio steerer, Claims Handler or Risk Engineer? Whichever you are – are you looking for that next step where you can be at the heart of the action in one of the world’s leading global industrial insurers? After you have spent 18-24 mths in the role we will work with you to find your next step within HDI or perhaps the wider Talanx Group! 

 This challenge will see you take responsibility in a strategic position working on a variety of topics and issues impacting our short tail lines (property, engineering and marine cargo) to ensure ongoing sustainability and profitability of our portfolio.

  • Providing holistic and proactive support to the CUO regarding both on strategic activities and in daily business
  • Preparing analyses and presentations on strategic topics for Management and Supervisory Board decisions (e.g. ESG, strategy updates, business cases etc.)
  • Working on and taking responsibility for own projects and activities
  • Coordinating and aligning with both internal and external stakeholders (e.g., other Board members, CUO's direct reports, other EAs etc.)
  • Supporting the CUO's internal and external communication 

Your profile:

  • University degree, preferably in business administration, economics, IT or in a quantitative discipline or comparable work experience
  • Postgraduate degree (e.g., MBA, PhD etc.) preferred
  • Prior work experience in insurance preferred
  • Very good conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in our organization
  • Proactive and results-driven personality with an open-minded, agile and curious mindset
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in both English & German language (C1) – spoken and written, other languages are a plus
